Liburdi GAPCO was engaged to support critical maintenance at the Red Hills Power Plant following the discovery of an almost through-wall body crack in a P91 valve. The scope of work required the cut-out and replacement of an 18” valve and a 16–18” reducer.

With a tight outage schedule and no room for rework, the project demanded first-time quality execution under compressed timelines.

Using Liburdi Dimetrics F-Head orbital weld head, the Liburdi GAPCO team successfully completed all four joints in just six complete shifts. The project achieved 100% X-ray acceptance and 100% full volumetric phased array inspection results. Advanced orbital welding technology ensured consistent, first-time quality welds, allowing the work to be completed on schedule while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This execution set a strong benchmark for efficiency and reliability in power plant maintenance.
