Job Scope

The General Contractor was responsible for erecting two Cogeneration Units at the Napanee Site and tying them into the existing power grid at the Bath GS.

Liburdi-GAPCO's Scope

Liburdi was subcontracted by the General Contractor to fit and weld the high pressure steam lines (9 Chrome) and the cold reheat steam lines in position.

HOW LIBURDI GAPCO IMPROVED THE PROJECT

Due to physically limited access and the requirement to weld the exotic alloys, Liburdi was able to use their H-Heads (GTAW) to not only access the difficult locations but to weld the 9 Chrome with no added difficulty.

OVERALL SUCCESS

Liburdi’s Boilermaker Welders achieved a 0.6% repair rate (manual root flaw) in completing the welds and allowed the General Contractor to move forward with the project.
